A mid career artist based in Malta and London, Patrick J Fenech will be showing some new works with photography from his new collection called 'Blister, Re-worked'. These images represent plastic packages or 'blister' which originally contained children's toys and through a modification process which involves the use of fire, water, ice and sometimes bathing in milk; as a result of their newly acquired contextual rebirth, find themselves components in unexpectedly provocative new idenities.
Patrick Fenech has participated in several group shows and one man exhibitions namely 'Here There & Everywhere - Anticipating The Art of The Future", Boston - April 2009, 'Works on Paper - A Global Perspective' NY Arts Venice Pavillion concurrent with the 53rd Venice Biennale-2009; Rencontres d'Arles Photographie - France 2008, 'Temptation' -Broadway Gallery New York 2006; NY Arts Gallery, "Apple II" Beijing China 2008; The Latino Art Museum, Pomona California- 2008 and "Florence Biennale - 2007.
He has also curated a photography exhibition 'Pictures in My Mind' and workshops for the Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008, an EU Funded project and this year was invited to curate the Visual Arts exhibition for the Malta Summer Festival organized by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts. Patrick is a visiting lecturer of photography at the University of Malta and is an active member of the Malta based contemporary art group 'START'.
