Natalia Fedorova

Painting has always been my main occupation, hobby, vocation and joy. I have been painting since I was twelve. I both had private teachers and went to several art schools, finally graduating from Mukhina College for applied Arts in St. Petersburg. My academic education formed the basis of all my work after that. In 1997 I moved to Copenhagen together with my family. During my first year in Denmark I paid my tribute to the usual artistic attractions such as the inner harbours of Copenhagen. Later on, my art drifted away from the tourist routes into the quiet streets of the city and the interiors of my own flat. My palette at that time changed as well and became much brighter than it had been in St. Petersburg. At this time I began experimenting with new techniques, where I used to combine many different materials. Sometimes my interests drifted away from paintings and then I created masks and did some camera work. The subject of my paintings have changed as well. Earlier I used to pay more attention to landscapes, but here in Copenhagen I became more fascinated by such subjects as still life, and later on by the Genesis of the World. During my fourteen years in Denmark I have had more than thirty exhibitions where my paintings have been selling successfully. My works have been purchased for private collections in the USA and many countries of Europe.
