was born in Marijampole in 1964.

He took the private studies of drawing and painting at the professors of Lithuanian Academy of Fine Arts.  Marijus Balcius is working as an art teacher, has been working as an artist at the Marijampole Drama Theatre. His beloved creative sphere - painting, he  became the laureate of "Young Talents" by his painting works during the exhibition of young artists in Kedainiai in 1997.

He exhibited his works in Lithuania, Germany, Denmark, Russia, USA, and Australia. His art dominates by the constructive, dimensional, laconic, polished forms, marked by the philosophical sense of the author. The rhythm, structure, elements of symbols naturally joins in his pictures.
