- Statement
We live in a time when images stands for speed, transience and superficiality. With my images (abstractions of the reality around me ) I am seeking points of contemplation for both, the viewer and myself. A sense of serenity frozen in time. A moment of reflection, emotion, recognition, surprise or amazement. As an artist who creates drawings, paintings and portraits, I have discovered the infinite possibilities as well as the pitfalls offered by the computer. And it was during these discoveries, that what Goethe once said „It is in self-limitation that a master first shows himself“ took on new meaning. For me, the computer has become a fantastic instrument for creating what I want to create: beautiful paintings/pictures/drawings/graphics or whatever you want to call them. Personally, I like to call them „computer paintings“ My new „canvas“ is an empty screen; my „brush“ is electronic. The work printed at large scale (100 x 100 cm. of larger) will retain its colour for around 200 years. Each work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity guaranteeing that it will be the only print ever made, and another certificate guaranteeing the quality of the printing process.
