Necla AKTAN was born in 1957, Turkey. In 1980, she graduated from Institute of Education, Gazi University. Three years later started her professional career as a painting teacher. In 1998, she achieved bachelors’ degree from Open Education Faculty, Anadolu University and retired from teaching in 2004. She focused on a search of choosing painting materials with the aid of her background. She prefers soft pastel and oil paint in still life paintings and “Asian paper” in her watercolor-collage works.
