Patricia Manuela Landwehr

The skilled and inspiring artist Patricia Manuela Landwehr was born in The Netherlands in 1959. At early age Patries copied landscape etches from Rembrandt in order to understand the drawing technique. Later on Landwehr followed several courses to help her out in developing her drawings and paintings. In the beginning of this millennium Patries did some illustration work for a monthly magazine, but by than she knew that her hearth was drawn to (oil) painting. That is why she went to Art school in her mid forties. Tired of all the contemporary work, just for being contemporary, Patricia felt challenged to study lots of techniques in Art school, and continued studying techniques at home by reading a lot about the old masters. Besides that Patries often visits art galleries, trying to find the bits and the tricks that makes oil paintings so fascinating. Patries admires the knowledge of the old masters like Bloemaert, and G. de Lairesse. Her great example is A. Dürer; his compositions are fabulous. Since 2011 Landwehr exhibits her work abroad as well. Her work is admired especially by the public in general but also by graphic designers and healthcare workers. From Sept 2013 – 2014 Landwehr participates in a Dutch Cultural Schooling art project, with approval of the Dutch government called “Over de Kunst” (http://www.overdekunst.nl/international-window.html) were teens are educated during school time in art. It is also a platform for the teens to buy art from recommended artists.
