Viktor Majdandzic

was born in Ivanjska, Bosnia; he studied Economics and Fine Art in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Since 1969 he lives and works in The Netherlands. His first art appearance was on the exhibition in Belgrade in 1958, where he got the first prize. Afterwards his art has been on display in many art books and exhibitions in Europe, North and South America. Recently he is awarded with the public prize on Euro Art Exhibition in Denmark, 3rd prize on the London Biennale 2015 with the juror’s note: “This is a thought-provoking re-evaluation of shape, form and color with an ingenious and arresting perspective that speaks to the subconscious”. He is also awarded with the 3rd Leonardo prize on the Chianciano Biennale in September 2015. Karen Lappon wrote: “An artist whose great talent is overwhelming and intriguing beyond discussion. Observing his works is like a journey to the origins of life itself, like participating in the magic of creation, like the ultimate answer to the essential questions we ask ourselves. Astonishingly enlightening”. Viktor believes that the continuity of the sets of geometric structures ini his paintings are the dikes that prevent the stream of novelties from dissolving into entropy.
