At first an erge for freedom and running blockades was an important source of inspiration. More and more the past has become overruled by the present. Colourful paintings with an optimistic sphere are the result. The artist’s personal life and his special interest in old painters, amongst others of the 17th century, now form the most important inspiration. By mixing a classical and pictural approach of topics a contemporaneous and original character is guaranteed. Surrealistic aspects are being used in landscapes which serve as an underground for multiformish an alienating parts of the interior and the other way around. Sense of humour has a relativating purpose without disarming the image.
