Marjolaine Escher

Born in the Netherlands in 1943, she grew up in Indonesia, Sweden and Holland.

Married to a geologist, they have 3 children and lived  in Switzerland and Denmark.

They went back to Switzerland in 1975 where she now lives in an old farmhouse near Lausanne.

Since 1977 she is a self-taught artist  making ceramic fantasy sculptures.

They have a surrealistic quality that reminds of Aztec and Mayan works from days gone.

Each sculpture is unique and is mostly made of glazed clay with a size of around 30 cm.
