Vinoda Revannasiddaiah

Vinoda who is currently on the faculty of the English Department, Government Arts College, gave up her selection to the Union Territories Civil Services and took up teaching English literature instead, for the sake of pursuing art. Simultaneously, she forayed into the world of colour. She preferred to be untrained in the field of painting and started her journey with a brush. Later she felt that the brush was artificial and thus began her effort to use water as a brush sweeping the canvas with the colours of nature. She has won many awards, including the ‘Honourable Mention Award’ from Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. Since her first solo exhibition in 1992, she has had 21 other solo exhibitions, including two in Africa (Kampala and Nairobi).
